Profile

Ioannis Galantomos is an Associate Professor of Applied Linguistics in the Department of Language and Intercultural Studies at the University of Thessaly. He holds a BA in Medieval & Modern Greek Literature and an MA in Linguistics, both degrees obtained at the University of Ioannina. He earned a Doctorate degree in Applied Linguistics at the University of Thessaly in 2009. Dr. Galantomos joined the faculty at the University of the Aegean in 2013 as a Lecturer. He has taught with the Universities of Thessaly, the University of the Aegean, the Democritus University of Thrace and the European University of Cyprus. Dr. Galantomos’ research focuses on Applied (Cognitive) Linguistics, Teaching Modern Greek as an L1-FL/L2, FL/L2 Vocabulary instruction, Bi-/Multilingualism and Bilingual Special Education.
